These municipalities belong to NUT III - Dão Lafões, situated in the district of Viseu and Guarda, occupying an area of 886.6 Km2, with a resident population of 66.230 inhabitants, distributed for 65 Parishes.

Created to support initiatives and productive investment in agriculture, industry, commerce, public services, tourism, preservation and management of natural resources, etc., it's placed in a region rich in natural, architectural, archaeological and cultural patrimony.

This is a fertile area in traditional agricultural quality products: Serra da Estrela cheese; Dão Wine; Bravo de Esmolfe Apple; Souto da Lapa Chestnut, Bread, Sausages, Sweets, etc.; as well as artisan products: pottery, basket-making, tin-work, embroidering (Tibaldinho), etc.

We mustn't forget the touristic potentialities of the region, especially Thermal waters: in Caldas da Cavaca, Aguiar da Beira; in Alcafache, Mangualde and in Caldas da Felgueira, Nelas.

It is also possible to enjoy walks in a diversified natural landscape with potentialities for Fishing and Hunting activities.
